Externship and Advanced Elective in Fall 08
Dear Students,
Information is now available for the September 2008 travel-study tour to
Ireland. Earn Externship and Advanced Elective competences, or up to three
other competences by negotiation. Travel takes students to one of the
premiere arts events in the country, Clifden Arts Week in scenic Connemara,
for ten days of lectures, exhibitions, readings, plays, concerts, and other
activities. Two day-long expeditions explore the history of medieval Galway
City and of the “Great Hunger” of the nineteenth century. For information,
contact instructor, resident faculty member Patricia Monaghan at
pmonagha@depaul.edu. Enrollment
limited; early registration discount. Limited financial aid is available.
The traditional fishing village
of Clifden, in breathtakingly beautiful Connemara, is the setting every fall
for one of Ireland's most famous arts festivals. Traditional, popular and
classical musicians gather with poets, novelists, sculptors, dancers,
philosophers, and artists to celebrate Ireland's unique heritage and
history.
