The following is a review of the components
of your Internet browser. If you do not have any of the requirements,
you can install them by visiting the links given below.
Requirement #1)
You will need
one of the following browsers for SNL, Distance Education
courses
Make sure your speakers
are connected to your audio card and the audio volume is
turned up.
You don't have JavaScript
enabled. Check the instruction on how to enabled
JavaScript.
You don't have the right
version of RealPlayer installed. Go to the
Real Player Website and look for a link to download RealPlayer
for free.
Your browser may be having
difficulty locating the RealPlayer plugin. This problem
can be solved by uninstalling and reinstalling the RealPlayer
program. If you let the installation program do everything
it wants by default, all the files and registry entries
should be updated correctly.
JavaScript
If your browser has JavaScript enabled , you should see the
name of your browser and its version number above. JavaScript
is required for many functions used in our web page. If you

browser cookies, Java and JavaScript
Most browsers
come with cookies, Java, and JavaScript enabled. Sometimes
people disable those features to speed up their web browsing
or change their security settings. Here is how to turn them
on in Netscape Navigator and Microsoft Internet Explorer.
Netscape

1. Under the Edit menu, choose Preferences
2. Click on Advanced in the Category list on the left
side of the window
3. Make sure boxes for cookies, Java and JavaScript are checked.

This browser's settings vary a lot from version to version.
But your options should be close to one of the following.
Internet Explorer
5.0 for PC
1. Under the Tools menu, choose Internet Options
2. Click the Security tab at the top of the Internet
Options panel
3. Click the Custom Level button at the botton of the
Security section of the Internet Options panel
4. Under "Cookies" set "Allow per-session cookies" to "Enable"
5. Under "Java" set "Java Permissions" to "High safety"
6. Under "Scripting" set "Active Scripting" to "Enable"
Internet Explorer
4.5 or higher for Macintosh
1. Under the Edit menu, choose Preferences
2. Click on Web Content in the list on the left side
of the window
3. Make sure "Enable Plugins" and "Enable Scripting" boxes
are checked.
4. Click on Java in the list on the left side of the
window
5. Make sure the "Enable Java" boxe is checked.
6. Scroll down and click on Cookies in the list on
the left side of the window
7. Make sure the drop-down menu next to the words "When recieving
cookies" reads either "Never ask" or "Ask for each site."
