The School for New Learning's (SNL) Individualized degree program has been designed for busy, working adults. At SNL, we are focused on helping you achieve your unique professional goals. Our program gives you a professional edge a number of ways:

Acceleration. SNL believes that it matters more what you know than where you've learned that skill. So, we invite you to present evidence of what you already know, so you can use your time in college on "new learning" rather than repeat what you already know.

Individual Attention. SNL believes that you are distinctive. So we greet you as an individual and provide you with a resident faculty to serve as your mentor. We also help you select a professional advisor, a person practicing in the field you wish to pursue. We then invite you to shape a focus area and to make many choices about what classes and projects you want to undertake.

Connecting Worlds. SNL knows that you move across a variety of stages -- home, work, community, extended family, and school. Many times school seems quite separate-apart from other responsibilities. We encourage you to build connections, to use what you are learning in each arena to make an education that will be useful in all your roles.

The Value of Experience. SNL believes that experience is powerful, and that education is most effective if you leave a class able to apply what you learned to a new situation or problem. So we value the experience you have already had and include hands-on activities in classes and projects, encouraging experimentation and risk-taking.
